Olas Software Training & Development Limited (also known as Olas) will be the Data Controller of the personal data that you provide to us. Olas are committed to upholding all legislative requirements in regards to data protection and privacy. This statement will outline our privacy policy in association with this website.

Fair Processing Notice

For some of the services which we offer, we may require information from you. The personal information we collect from you may include: name, address, telephone number, email address, company name and details. The personal data we collect from you will only be used for the following purposes:

  • The provision of training, development and project management services
  • Normal communication in relation to the above services
  • Correspondence in relation to billing and accounts receivable
  • Course notifications, new service offerings and service updates
  • Exam registration, bookings, booking updates, etc.

By consenting to this, you are giving us permission to perform those actions. You may withdraw consent at any time by sending an email to: gdpr@olas.ie.

What is Personal Data?

Under the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation Personal Data is defined as follows:

Any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

Consent is required for Olas Software Training and Development to process both types of personal data, but it must be explicitly given. Where we are asking you for sensitive personal data we will always tell you why and how the information will be used.

Why Olas Software Training and Development Needs to Collect and Store Personal Data

In order for us to provide you with training, development and project management services we need to collect personal data for correspondence purposes and/or detailed service provision. In any event, we are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy. We may pass your personal data on to our service providers who are contracted to Olas Software Training and Development in the course of dealing with you. Our contractors are obliged to keep your details securely, and use them only to fulfil the service they provide you on our behalf. Once your service need has been satisfied or the case has been closed, they will dispose of the details in line with Olas Software Training and Development’s procedures. If we wish to pass your sensitive personal data onto a third party we will only do so once we have obtained your consent, unless we are legally required to do so. We may pass on your personal information to other companies in the Assima Group, of which we are a part.

How Olas Software Training and Development Uses your Information

Olas Software Training and Development will process – that means collect, store and use – the information you provide in a manner that is compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date and not keep it for longer than is necessary. In some instances the law sets the length of time information has to be kept, but in most cases Olas Software Training and Development will use its discretion to ensure that we do not keep records outside of our normal business requirements.

Olas, and/or its sister companies in the Assima Group, may wish to send you marketing information about its services from time to time. You do not have to agree to this. If you object to the use of your personal data for marketing use, please email: gdpr@olas.ie, and ask for removal of your details. All our electronic marketing material carries an unsubscribe option, so you can also unsubscribe at any time.

Our aim is not to be intrusive, and we undertake not to ask irrelevant or unnecessary questions. Moreover, the information you provide will be subject to rigorous measures and procedures to minimise the risk of unauthorised access or disclosure.

Olas may disclose personal information if required to do so by law.

Access to your Personal Information

You have the right to be given a copy of information held by us about you. We may charge a fee for this which will not exceed €5.00 euros. We will provide the requested information to you within 30 calendar days of the receipt of a valid request in writing or by email. Applications must be sent with proof of identity such as a passport copy or driving license. We will also require applications to include any personal data, which relates to our company, such as your username or password.

You have the right to have any inaccuracies in the information held by us about you corrected, if inaccurate, or erased, if we do not have a legitimate reason for retaining that information. We will accede to any such valid requests within 30 calendar days of the receipt of a valid request by email to: gdpr@olas.ie.

We reserve the right to request you to provide additional information in order to enable us to identify your personal data and/or to verify your identity.

Security of your Personal Information

Olas are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We follow best practice guidelines to help protect your information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Information is stored on computers with limited access that are located in controlled facilities.

Protection of Children’s Personal Information

Olas do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Disclosure

No personal information will be retained for longer than is necessary.

Communicating via the Internet and sending information to you by other means necessarily involves your personal information passing through or being handled by third parties.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This legal notice and all issues regarding this website are governed exclusively by Irish law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
